2008 ACUPCC Annual Report

The 2008 Annual Report (PDF) was released in March 2009. The report contains data views of the ACUPCC's impact and inspiring sucess stories from over twenty signatories. Additionally, there is a progress report outlining each school's standing as of December 31, 2008.

ACUPCC Academic Guidance Document

Signatories to the ACUPCC have committed to take “actions to make climate neutrality and sustainability a part of the curriculum and other educational experiences for all students.” This guidance document, Education for Climate Neutrality and Sustainability, is intended to give high-level guidance to college and university decision-makers and key staff to clarify the intent of this element of the Commitment, and to provide some resources for signatories to create strategies for fulfilling this commitment. This document is designed to identify some of the best practices across higher education and to provide resources to assist signatories.

Best Practices Toolkit: Energy Performance Contracting for Higher Education

The ACUPCC and CCI, with the assistance of many industry experts, have created a best practices toolkit as a resource for signatories interested in learning about and conducting an EPC. It provides an EPC overview, highlights critical issues, provides in-depth financing information, contains sample documents, and details industry and state resources. This toolkit is intended to support a project team throughout the EPC process, from early stage opportunity assessment to contract negotiation, implementation, and beyond.

ACUPCC Voluntary Carbon Offset Protocol

The ACUPCC Voluntary Carbon Offset Protocol (the “Protocol”) project is a coordinated effort of the American academic community to develop a formal voluntary protocol to guide ACUPCC institutions and others through the process of evaluating and investing in the voluntary carbon offset market. This project is being developed by College of the Atlantic through its participation in the ACUPCC with coordination and support services provided by Second Nature. It is bringing together interested parties from the over 600 ACUPCC institutions, as well as experts in finance, policy, energy, land-use, climate science, and other relevant arenas

About Campus Sustainability Day

Campus Sustainability Day was founded in 2002 as part of the Society for College and University Planning's early efforts—working with Second Nature—to support cross-departmental, cross-disciplinary, cross-functional, integrated campus planning for sustainability. A lot has happened in this area since 2002, and now—although SCUP continues to provide the cornerstone high-quality webcast for Campus Sustainability Day—this network and the day itself are a collaboration between many organizations, including HEASC members and the National Wildlife Federation's Campus Ecology Project.
